On Old Writing

So, about two weeks ago, the ever-fabulous and ever Notorious L.A.V. decided that we were going to create a writing group. Specifically called the Murray Avenue Procrastination Society. And tonight is our first official meeting....

Well, we've been perhaps been meeting just not under the official Society name.

Anyway, for tonight's first meeting we decided to bring our latest piece that we're working on and an old piece. Well, I dug up a story (completed!!) from 1993. It's got pirates in it. And I have a strong feeling that it's angsty...because, you know, I was in high school. It wasn't writing if it wasn't angsty. ;)

I'm absolutely embarrassed by this story, but what the hell.  I was fifteen.

Anyway, my friend is cool about stuff like this.  She won't laugh too, too hard about how bad it is.  But let's hope that I don't spontaneously catch fire from the sheer embarrassment.

Oh, other writings that I'm bringing tonight:

I have every understanding that we might (probably) won't get to discussing these stories, because good lord, Janey Edition is 27 pages long and the house story?  Well, the house story is just so dense that I don't even know where to begin.

Plus, there's her stuff to go over.  She's the poet and playwright and to my fiction writer.  (And by the way, why is it spelled playwright?  Can someone tell me what's that's all about?)

Anyway, yeah.  That's what's going down in Paperback Writer's Saturday night.  ;)
