A Musical Meme
Stolen from Elisabeth!
Thanks!
Of all the bands and artists in your collection, of which one do you own the most albums?
The Beatles and R.E.M.
What was the last song you listened to?
She's Not There by the Zombies
What’s in your CD player right now?
Er...I think in the stereo downstairs I have a bunch of mix cd's that I made.
What are your favorite instruments?
I took ten years of piano. So, I think I better damn well say piano. :) The acoustic guitar is second though with only three years.
Who’s your favorite local artist/band?
Why Brad Yoder of course!
I think the story that Elisabeth told about him is pretty funny. I haven't seen that side of him!
What was the last show you attended?
The free Andrew Bird concert at the Three Rivers Arts Festival last summer...I could also count the Brad Yoder show at the Te Cafe a few weeks ago...
What was the greatest show you’ve ever been to?
Ah...the 1995 R.E.M. Monster tour.
Haven't I written about this before?
No?
I can't remember.
Anyway, I just graduated from high school so my best friends (A and M) and I took a road trip to Cleveland for the show at the Gund Areana. It was the first time I was being let out of the house with my friends for an extended period of time. No chaperones, no one of authority to check in on.
Wonderful.
Show wasn't bad either. ;)
What’s the worst band you’ve ever seen in concert?
...oy vey...
Journey with Steve Jerry and not Steve Perry.
Sorry, Loki.
esshhhh
What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Umm....
What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
I would say spending ten years of my life playing piano lessons would do it!
What show are you looking forward to?
grrr...
It's the one I can't f'ing attend...
Other than that the They Might be Giants show that same day...
What is your favorite band shirt?
It's an R.E.M. shirt, you know the one. Grayish/greenish shirt with a huge giant star on it...yeah, that one.
What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Andrew Bird, David Poe,Ray LaMontagne, Duncan Sheik, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers...just to name a few.
No, I'm not obessessed. What makes you say that?
What musician would you like to be in love with you for a day?
...er....
Do you know me? Aren't my past posts enough? Do I really have to humiliate myself again and tell you what musicians I'm currently crushing over?
Do I really?
*sigh*
See previous list of musicians...
What was your last musical “phase” before you wised up?
Really now, I like a lot of music...
But I will say the ever so brief stint of country music when I was five before MTV.
Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
Er....
Did you know that filling out this meme makes you a music geek?
Yep.
Proud of it.
What was the greatest decade for music?
Oh, man...I can't pick a decade! There's a lot of great music from all the decades! Yes, even the 80s. Where exactly would New Wave and Post Punk be without the 80s and the music for them to rebel against?
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Probably anything composed by John Williams.
Who is your favorite artist who is much better live than on a recording?
That's hard to say! I'm hoping with enough shows, I can answer a question like that! For the time being, I'll say Andrew Bird.
Do you have a hidden desire to be a popular musician?
*blush*
When I was seven this neighborhood girl and I would lip synch Wham! Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Michael Jackson.
We had a stage my garage and dressed up.
*sigh*
Now, you know my hidden desire! I wanted to be an 80s music star!!
Have you ever used drugs to enhance the music experience?
Nope.
I'm a goody, goody, remember?
What was the last song you heard that gave you a chill?
Oooo....that's a really hard question! I'm not sure...
Where would you be without music?
Dead in a ditch.
That's why this whole not hearing properly out of one ear is driving me f'ing insane!
I NEED TO HEAR PROPERLY.
ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Tag! You're it!
Thanks!

Woo! I love REM. Haven't listened to their music in quite some time; need to fire up some CDs.
MS: It's time that you do then!
Andrew Bird is coming to a local college on Saturday and I'm trying to convince some people to go with me. I wonder if it would be weird if I went alone?
Cinders: If the people can't be convinced on going, screw them. Go yourself. :) No, you wouldn't be weird.
